She is currently stable and receiving medical care. Please keep her and her family in your thoughts and prayers.

Tomorrow, we will have counselors and staff available on campus to support any students who may need it.

The Cobre Board of Education is now accepting letters of interest from community members
who would like to participate in the decision-making process regarding whether the name Dr.
Abe Armendariz should be added to the Howie Morales Baseball Stadium.
Persons interested should submit a letter of interest to Interim Superintendent Randall Piper at
rpiper@cobreschools.org no later than April 15, 2026.
Three (3) Community members will be nominated to be on the committee at the Regular Board
of Education Meeting on April 20, 2026 being held at 5:00 pm at San Lorenzo Elementary
School.

Instructional Recovery Day – Monday, March 9 Due to the January 12 water closure, Cobre HS and Snell MS will hold an Instructional Recovery Day to make up missed instructional time as required by NMPED. Students will follow a modified schedule (see flyer below). From band and choir performances to elementary performances. Music in Our Schools Month® reminds us that music strengthens academic achievement, fosters teamwork, and builds confidence. We invite families and community members to join us in celebrating the power of music and supporting the continued growth of our school’s music programs.
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our music teacher Mr. Aaron Lewis, band teacher Mr. Clayton Raichel and Mariachi teacher Mrs. Damaris Sanders for sharing their love of music with our students each and every day.Their passion, dedication, and enthusiasm inspire creativity, build confidence, and foster a lifelong appreciation for the arts. Through their guidance, students not only develop musical skills but also learn the value of teamwork, discipline, and self-expression. We are truly grateful for the positive impact they make in our school community.
