Cobre Families: Students at the middle and high school will be attending a 45-minute presentation on Healthy and Unhealthy Relationships on Wednesday, September 4th. The presenter will be Angelique Sedillo from POMS and Associates from the New Mexico Public Schools Insurance Authority. This is an essential presentation that empowers our students with the knowledge they need to navigate their interpersonal relationships safely and responsibly. Key Topics: •Healthy Relationships: Learn the importance of mutual respect, honesty, and realistic expectations. •Unhealthy Relationships: Identify signs of discomfort or intimidation and recognize harmful behaviors like unwarranted jealousy or privacy invasions. •Digital Dangers: Understand the risks of "sexting," digital dating abuse, and the need to maintain control over personal digital and social media accounts. •Sextortion: Discover what sextortion is and how to protect oneself from online predators who may use images or videos for blackmail. •Grooming & Boundary Invasions: Recognize the warning signs and learn what actions to take if such behaviors are encountered. For any questions or further information, please contact: • Mr. Gropp, Principal at Cobre High School: 575-537-4020 • Mrs. Begay, Principal at Snell Middle School: 575-537-4030

Please be advised Snell Middle School will be implementing a proactive approach to deterring threats within our student setting at Snell Middle School. Today, February 1, 2024 we did have metal detectors on site at the beginning of the school day. This practice will be implemented as of today and it is important for everyone to understand we have your child (ren’s) best interest in mind when it comes to ensuring we have a safe campus. Our goal at Snell is to remind students and families this environment is for learning opportunities. Threats, bullying and vaping will not be tolerated. If you have any questions and or concerns, please direct them to Mrs. Margaret Begay or Mr. Artie Sanchez at 575- 537-4030 ext.1300
