On January 27, 2025 at 5:00PM in the evening the Cobre Consolidated School District Board of Education will have its regular board meeting at theHurley Elementary School. The Agenda is attahed.

Cobre Families, With an abundance of caution today, we investigated reports of a possible gas leak at Snell Middle School. In response to these concerns, we relocated all students to Bayard Elementary as a safety measure. After the New Mexico Gas Company conducted their investigation, they have assured us there is no gas leak. We are working closely with local authorities to ensure the safety and well-being of all students and staff. At this time, there is no immediate cause for alarm. However, due to protocol, we are required to have a licensed plumber retest the system before students and staff can return to the building. As a result, the students will attend school online starting at 10:00 am tomorrow, Friday, January 24th . We will provide further updates as soon as more information becomes available. Mark your Calendars! The Community Food Pantry will be held January 21st, 2025, it will be distributed at Hurley Elementary. This will begin at 9am till supplies run out. This is a Community food pantry all individuals are welcome to participate.

The Cobre School Board is looking for volunteers with experience in finance and accouting experience. P)lease submit your resume and letter of interest to the Cobre Consolidated Schools .

Cobre Schools would like to inform all students, their families, and staff that on Friday, January 10th we will be running a regular school day schedule.

Please remember that tomorrow is a school day. At this point the Cobre Consolidated School District has not made a determination whether this will be an in-person school day or online school day. Further updates will be sent out as decisions are made.

Today's Cobre vs Animas Girls Basketball game has been cancelled in the Cliff Tournament.

Due to deteriorating weather conditions all cobre elementary schools will dismiss at 12:00PM and Snell Middle School and Cobre High School will dismiss at 12:30PM

Due to safety concerns regarding weather. San Lorenzo Elementary will be released at 1:30pm, there will be bus transportation for the bus students. Middle School and Highschool Mimbres students will released at 2pm, there will be bus transportation provided for the bus. If you have any questions or concerns please call the individual schools.

Mimbres bus #40 Highway 61 will not be able to pick up students past Royal John Bridge due to an accident on the road not involving the school bus, but preventing passage. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

Food Pantry will be held tomorrow November 19th, at Hurley Elementary, starting at 9am to 1pm. Please stay in your vehicle and a staff member will come to you. This is a community food pantry, all community members are welcome to participate.

Dear Cobre Consolidated School District Families, We thank you and your family for being our valued partners as we work together to educate the children in our district. As you may already be aware, building our social-emotional learning skills is an important goal for our school this year. Over the next few weeks, students, teachers, and parents/guardians will be asked to participate in brief surveys on student wellbeing published by the New Mexico Public Education Department. Students: We will be asking your child to reflect on their own mindsets and approaches to learning via a confidential online survey they will be completing at school. All students in grades 3-12 will be required to complete the survey as their responses will provide invaluable insights into their experiences and how we can improve and adapt our district to their needs. Parents/Guardians: We will also be asking parents/guardians to take an optional brief survey to tell us about your experience with Cobre Consolidated School District. To ensure we continue to provide high quality, rigorous learning experiences that meet the needs of our learners and prepare them for college and career, we need your feedback. We want to know what you think. All surveys will begin on Tuesday October 28, 2024 and close on Friday, November 29, 2024. Parents/guardians will be able to take the survey online at home on any internet-connected device (e.g. laptop, desktop, Chromebook, tablet, smartphone). If you need access to a computer to complete the survey, please work with your child’s school to take the survey at the school. We thank you in advance for your thoughtful responses. If you have any questions about the surveys, please don’t hesitate to contact your child’s school.
