Per guidance from the district, Cobre High School students who live in the Mimbres and San Lorenzo areas will be dismissed at 11:45 a.m. today due to the flood warning and flooding in those areas. Bus riders will be transported home, and students who drive will be released at that time.

✉️MESSAGE TO JUNIOR CLASS PARENTS/GUARDIANS✉️

Hello Parents,

I wanted to reach out and ask for a little help from our Junior Class families. With the Silver vs. Cobre game coming up, we are hoping to get as many of our students as possible in the student section. We wanted to ask if any parents would be willing to volunteer their time in running the concession stand for the games. We are opening the concession at 4:00pm when the volleyball games start. Are there any parents that would be available by 3:00pm. The games usually conclude by 7:00pm so it will be about 4 hours. We also need donations to stock the concession with water, soda, and gatorade. All proceeds are to benefit the Class of 2028 in prom planning, graduation, and class events. Please let me know if you can donate your time or items for the concession.

Have a great rest of your day,

Multimedia Productions II Students Lead Fall Sports & Activities Media Day 📸🎥

Students in Cobre High School’s Multimedia Productions II class, taught by Media teacher Mr. Burnette as part of the school’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) Media Pathway, recently put their classroom skills into action as they helped plan and lead the school’s Fall Sports and Activities Media Day.

Football, Volleyball, Band, and Cheer participated in the first Media Day session, with Cross Country scheduled to have its session at a later date.

Multimedia Productions II students Destiny, Amiya, Angelena, Justice, Steven, Gianna, Iraceli, Llesena, and Jesse played an active role in planning the event and bringing their ideas to life. Throughout Media Day, students operated photography and video equipment, worked directly with athletes and activity members to develop creative poses and concepts, directed subjects in front of the cameras, and reviewed their work throughout the production process.

The project provided students with hands-on experience that closely mirrors a real-world media production, requiring them to combine technical camera skills with creativity, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving.

Media Day also created an opportunity for cross-curricular collaboration. A special thank you goes to CHS Chemistry teacher and Head Volleyball Coach Mrs. Grijalva, who worked with the Media students and Volleyball team to safely create the fire effects featured in several of the Volleyball photos. 🔥📸

And capturing the photos and videos was only the beginning.

Back in the classroom, Multimedia Productions II students will use the content captured during Media Day to create graphics, promotional materials, social media content, and other digital media projects. Their work will help tell the stories of Cobre High School’s students, teams, and activities throughout the fall season. Photos from Media Day will also be shared with coaches and sponsors for use in promoting and celebrating their programs.

A special thank you also goes to Cobre Consolidated Schools Superintendent Dr. Verenice Gutierrez for joining our students and participating in Media Day!

The project brought together CTE education, academics, athletics, and student activities while giving students the opportunity to experience the media-production process from planning and production through editing and publication — creating content for a real audience and a real purpose.

Stay tuned to see what our Multimedia Productions II students create! 📸🎬
