Revised 26-27 CCSD School Calendar. The only change to the calendar is the date of graduation. Graduation has been moved to May 27, 2027.

Cobre Families, Students, and Community,

I am incredibly honored and excited to serve as the new Principal of Cobre High School. From the moment I accepted this position, I knew this wasn't just another school—it is a community built on pride, tradition, and resilience. I am grateful to now be a part of the Cobre family.

My goal is simple: to build upon the proud tradition of the Cobre community while raising the bar for excellence in everything we do.

I want you to know what you can expect from me. You can expect excellence every single day. You can expect honesty, transparency, and a principal who will always make decisions based on what is best for our students and our comunidad! Your students, your families, and this community deserve nothing less.

I understand the past few years have brought many changes. Change is never easy, and I recognize that it can be challenging. However, I give you my word that I will show up every day ready to work, ready to listen, and ready to lead. I cannot do this alone. I need the support of our parents, families, community members, staff, and—most importantly—our students.

Together, we will create something special.

As we prepare for the upcoming school year, there will be some adjustments. Every change we are making is centered around one purpose: providing the very best educational experience for our students. Our staff has worked tirelessly throughout the summer to prepare for a successful school year. While there may be a few adjustments along the way, I am confident that, together, we will make this one of the best years Cobre High School has ever had.

To help everyone better understand the direction and vision for our school, I would like to personally invite all parents, students, and community members to a Principal's Community Meeting.

During this meeting, I will share the vision for Cobre High School, discuss upcoming changes, answer questions, and explain how we will continue building a culture of excellence together.

I also invite everyone to join us at our Summer Fest on Saturday, July 25! I look forward to meeting many of you there and celebrating our amazing community before the school year begins.

Lastly, student registration will begin over the next couple of weeks. You may have already received previous communication regarding registration dates. Due to other district obligations on Thursday, July 23, we had to make a minor adjustment to the registration schedule. Those impacted will be contacted. We sincerely appreciate your patience and flexibility.

I truly believe the best days of Cobre High School are ahead of us.

Dear Silver High School and Cobre High School Families, Fans, Alumni, and Community Members,

Silver High School and Cobre High School would like to inform our students, families, supporters, and communities that, due to the current two-year football scheduling cycle, the Fighting Colts and the Indians will not meet on the football field during the 2026–2027 football season.

As schedules were finalized for this two year cycle, the traditional Silver-Cobre rivalry game was not included. Based on current participation numbers within Cobre’s football program and the scheduling considerations associated with this cycle, both schools mutually agreed that the matchup would not take place this season. Silver also understands the challenges that many schools face in maintaining strong, safe athletic participation, and Silver supports Cobre High School as it continues to strengthen and expand its football program.

We recognize that this rivalry has been a long standing tradition for generations of families, students, alumni, and fans throughout Grant County. It has created countless memories and has long been one of our community’s most anticipated athletic events.

While the football rivalry will take a brief pause this season, the Fighting Colts and the Cobre Indians will continue to compete against one another throughout the school year in basketball, volleyball, wrestling, track and field, and other athletic and extracurricular activities. Our friendly rivalries continue to bring our communities together, showcase the talents of our student athletes, and represent the very best of Grant County’s students.

We remain committed to providing meaningful opportunities for our student-athletes while supporting the long-term success of our respective athletic programs. We appreciate the understanding and continued support of our communities, and we look forward to the opportunity to renew this great football rivalry in the future.

Until then, we wish both the 💙🤍 Fighting Colts and the ❤️🖤 Cobre Indians a safe, successful, and memorable school year and athletic season.

Students from Cobre High School recently returned from an unforgettable educational tour of England and France led by Yvette Gonzales through EF Educational Tours.

During their journey, students explored some of Europe's most historic and iconic landmarks.

In London, they visited Big Ben, the Churchill War Rooms, the Imperial War Museum, and Bletchley Park, gaining insight into British history and the events of World War Il.

The group then traveled to Normandy, where they experienced the historic Utah Beach and Omaha Beach, visited the Normandy American Cemetery, and explored several D-Day museums, deepening their understanding of the sacrifices made during World War Il.

Their adventure concluded in Paris, where students admired world-famous landmarks including the Arc de Triomphe, the Eiffel Tower, the Palace of Versailles, and Notre-Dame Cathedral.

The trip provided students with an incredible opportunity to experience history, culture, and global learning firsthand.

Looking ahead, Yvette Gonzales will lead the next EF Educational Tours adventure to Japan in the summer of 2027.

Last night, the Cobre High School Class of 2026 came together for an evening filled with laughter, memories, friendship, and celebration as the sun set on their senior year. 🎓❤️

From photos on the bleachers to time spent with classmates and families, Senior Sunset was a special reminder of how far this group has come and the memories they’ve made together along the way.

The Class of 2026 is loaded and ready for the senior walk at the elementary schools!

🚨IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR GRADUATION 🚨 For safety during graduation, we will be implementing a clear bag/no bag policy. See the flyer below for information on that. We will also have parking zones in place. Also, please note the exit paths to help with traffic after the event. Parents and those with graduation tickets to sit on the field will park on the south side of the field, between the football field and softball field. At the conclusion of graduation, they may exit down the road to the softball field and then down Bard Street. All other guests will park north of the high school and can get to the field either walking around the library to the field on the west side of the school, or through the gate by HMS on the east side of the school. At the conclusion of the event, exiting will take place through the high school exit onto Tom Foy Blvd or through the eastern gate onto Joan St and then down Winifred Street. There will be handicap parking by the band room/daycare area. Please note: there will be NO PARKING against the fence along the northern portion of the field. At the conclusion of the event, handicapped guests can exit through the side gate onto Joan St, and then head south to Steyskal Street. Students will park in the dirt parking lot to the west of the field, across from the weight room. At the conclusion of the event, they will go to the front of the school and exit onto Tom Foy Blvd. Administrators and school board members may park in the staff parking lot to the west of the weightroom, exiting onto Tom Foy Blvd at the conclusion of the event. High school staff will park on the north and south sides of the library, exiting onto Tom Foy Blvd at the conclusion of the event.
