Our Cobre Cross Country team opened the season this past weekend at the Silver Invitational in Fort Bayard, and our Indians came ready to compete!
Several of our athletes posted personal records and put together strong performances in our first meet of the season. We like to recognize our top performers:

53–0. The Cobre Indians football team came to play last night ! 🏈🖤❤️
The defense was flying around, creating takeaways and keeping McCurdy out of the end zone, while the offense moved the ball, found the end zone, and kept the pressure on all night. The team brought the ENERGY, the physicality, and the fight—and tonight, we proved that Cobre belongs under the Friday night lights! This is a different team from a year ago!
And what a night in the stands! 📣 Our cheerleaders brought the spirit showing why they are the 2x state champs, the band showed their pride, and Cobre family showed up loud and proud! It was everything a Friday night football game should be.
A special shoutout to our Cobre Volleyball team as well. ❤️🖤 They battled yesterday on the road, and although the result wasn’t what they wanted, they still have plenty of season ahead of them. Traveling, competing, and representing Cobre takes commitment—and we are proud of them for continuing to fight and represent our school! As always they will prove their resiliency!

Parents, students, staff, alumni, and community members — we need your voice! Our Cobre High School Leadership Team recently came together to begin an important conversation about who we are, what we believe, and where we are going as a school. From that work, the team developed two options for a new Vision and Mission Statement, and now we want our entire Cobre community to help choose our direction.
What do our Vision and Mission mean? Our Vision describes what we aspire to become and the future we want for every Cobre High school student.
Our Mission defines how we will work together every day to make that vision a reality.
These are more than words on a wall. They will help guide our decisions, priorities, programs, and expectations moving forward. Most importantly, our Vision and Mission will directly align with our Cobre Graduate Profile and the knowledge, skills, character, and experiences we want every student to leave Cobre High School with.
🗳️ NOW WE NEED YOUR HELP! Our Leadership Team has developed two options, but the direction of our school should not be decided by just a few people. Cobre belongs to all of us.

Cobre Athletics is moving to an all-digital ticketing system—not to create an inconvenience, but to build a more productive, efficient, and accountable system for our athletic program.
The funds generated through our athletic events directly support our students and activities. By better accounting for these funds, we can ensure the resources are available to provide our athletes with what they need to build and sustain championship-level programs. The halls of Cobre High School were filled with school spirit as we celebrated our Cobre High School Volleyball Team with a Champion Walk!
Led by the Cobre High School Indian Pride Band Drum Line, our volleyball players made their way through the halls while fellow students and staff lined the way to cheer them on and wish them luck this season!

ADVERSITY BUILDS CHAMPIONS.

Last season, Cobre Volleyball made history, capturing the 3A State Championship—the first volleyball state championship ever won in Grant County.
Now, a new season brings new challenges—and this team is ready to answer the call.
These girls have already faced adversity, but they haven’t let it define them. They’ve shown resiliency, determination, and heart—continuing to show up, bring the energy, compete, and represent Cobre with pride.
Today’s scrimmage gave them another opportunity to be tested. They faced some great competition, including 5A State Champion Las Cruces High School, and they welcomed the challenge.
They’ve been tested.
They’ve been challenged.
And they’re only getting stronger. TOGETHER!
A huge shoutout to our coaches, who have stepped up in a big way and poured their time, energy, and leadership into this team. Your commitment matters.

Students in Mrs. Heredia's and Ms. Jimenez's Advisory Classes combined for two weeks to work on a creative project. Students, using no technology to do so, built mystery creatures with their groups using their imagination. They also had to describe the creature in a paragraph and present it to the classes. We are excited to welcome everyone back for the start of the new school year!
Please note that student schedules will be available on Monday morning. To ensure an organized and efficient start to the day, we will be using the following process:
Breakfast: 7:30 a.m. – 8:00 a.m.
8:00 a.m.: All students should report directly to the gymnasium for a brief welcome and opening remarks.
Following the welcome, students will be dismissed by grade level to designated schedule pickup locations.
Within each grade level, schedules will be distributed alphabetically by students' last names. Staff members will be available to direct students to the appropriate area.
